Geoffrey Smith

Geoff is a former senior Tasmania Police Commander and security specialist with over 40 years of policing experience. His last six years in charge of Tasmania Police’s Counter-Terrorism Command. He was one of Australia New Zealand Counter-Terrorism Committee’s (ANZCTC) Senior Advisers, and has commanded various specialist policing units, as well as developing the Protective Security Advisory Capability within Tasmania Police.
He has managed the Tasmanian Government State Crisis Centre and was a principal author of Australia’s Strategy for the Protection of Crowded Places from Terrorism. During his career, he has led national initiatives in reviewing the private security industry and enhancing police protective security capability.
Geoff recently held the position of Host-City Security Coordinator for the ICC Men’s World Cup Australia 2022 and held responsibility for the integrated security planning and operations within New South Wales and Tasmania. His responsibility covered the integration of venue and policing operations, including managing the delivery of safety and security arrangements for Stadiums, Airports, Hotels and Live Sites (Fan Zones).
Geoff holds a Bachelor of Policing and a Diploma in Security Risk Management. He is a 1992 Churchill Fellow and was awarded the Australian Police Medal in 2007 for services to policing and the Australian community.

Trevor Easley

Trevor has served in HM Forces and British Government and has over 25 years’ experience in leading major event and critical infrastructure security projects. He has managed complex security programs globally, and recently led the safety, security, accreditation planning and operations across 7 host-cities for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Australia.
Prior to this, he was employed within the Qatar Prime Minister’s Security Directorate responsible for the initial structuring and capability building of the 2022 FIFA World Cup security function. He led the safety and security design program for the FIFA World Cup Stadiums, including the delivery of whole-of-government and police tournament security readiness and assurance program.
From 2008, Trevor was the Security Risk & Assurance Executive within the UK Government’s Olympic Delivery Authority for the London 2012 Olympic & Paralympic Games. He was responsible for driving delivery of key projects, including venues and infrastructure safety & security design, in-venue security operations planning, Olympic Park security risk assessment. Trevor sat as a member of the Olympic Strategic Safety & Security Risk Assessment Committee under UK Cabinet Office, and during games-time, managed the national Olympic Security Assurance program, leading a multi-disciplinary team from Government Security Services, Defence, and Police Agencies.
In recognition for developing and leading the Olympic critical security success areas, he was nominated the UK’s Security Capability Lead by the UK Home Office. These success areas included the innovative and award-winning safety and security design of venues and infrastructure, crime and terrorism risk management processes, and the national Olympic security assurance program.
Trevor has been a member of the Forum of Australasian Security Executives (FASE), and has extensive working relationships within Governments and Policing Agencies across Australia. He remains an Australian Commonwealth Government Expert Witness for critical infrastructure protective security and risk, and holds a Master’s Degree in Leadership and Management and a Bachelors of Law (LLB – UK).
